HONCHO CAMPOUT is a queer techno festival held annually at the Four Quarters Sanctuary in Artemas, PA. It lasts four days, with four different stages and areas. 2025 marked its 10th anniversary, so the Honcho collective asked Troy Taylor and I to create an identity system to celebrate this special occasion.

During these four days, the Sanctuary welcomes approximately 2,000 attendees who immerse themselves in the festival’s iconic atmosphere. However, navigating the expansive 250-acre sanctuary can be challenging, so we developed an identity system centered around accessible wayfinding.

The number 4 served as a guiding principle in the design of this identity. We suggested creating a set of 16 flags, with 4 flags representing each of the different festival areas or stages. When repeated, the flags also form patterns. Both individual flags and their patterns were used to develop location-based signage and identification.
