← NYABF 2025, New York, NY.
September 11 — 25, 2025

Printed Matter’s NY Art Book Fair is a beloved celebration of artists’ books. The 2025 NY Art Book Fair marks an exciting and long-awaited return to MoMA PS1, where it was held from 2009 to 2019, a pivotal decade that established NYABF as a cornerstone for the distribution of artists’ books and the preeminent gathering place to celebrate the form.

NYABF 2025 will feature over 250 exhibitors, including interdisciplinary artists, collectives, small presses, self-publishing artists, rare book dealers, institutions, and distributors. Stop by Artbook @ MoMA PS1 to flip through a rare selection of PS1 publications from our archive. NYABF also offers a discursive platform for engagement in the field of artists’ book publishing through book launches, lectures, exhibitions, discussions, performances, and workshops. Check out the full schedule on the NYABF website.

← Workshop Xerox to Riso, San Francisco, CA.
August 23 — September 21, 2025

Are you an artist, designer, or writer with an idea for a zine but feel intimidated by the self-publishing process? Don’t worry, let’s make it together! This Self-Publishing Workshop is designed to provide hands-on experience in Xerox and Risograph printing, empowering you to create your unique publications.

Guided by experienced mentors, students will learn essential formatting, printing, and zine-making techniques. Through demos and mentorship, you’ll gain the skills to produce small self-published works, such as comics, zines, poetry, essays, photobooks, or anything else that sparks your imagination.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created three different zines. So, bring your ideas to the workshop!

Prerequisites: While some drawing and making experience, as well as the use of Adobe InDesign or Photoshop, are helpful, they are not completely required. Students must be 18 years or older at the start of the class.

On your first class, bring anything you want to print, such as images, illustrations, collages, text, or even ideas. This could be a comic, a chapbook, or a zine. As long as it’s ready as digital files (if you have physical work, you can scan it as a PNG in class), you’re all set. If you have a laptop with InDesign or Photoshop, feel free to bring it along as well.
